Recursive Dream

the artist draw my attention to the smoke that is in the very middle. it represents movement as. girl is looking out in the ski through a door way. the placement is how he get my attention. natural your focus goes straight to the middle of an object or painting and then the surrounding images. in this painting in particular the smoke is white and with it being white its able to draw your attention quickly rather then looking at anything else. I believe the story is .. I think the girl in the image will eventually walk out the doorway and become free like the birds flying through. the story can be telling you that your life is free up until a particular moment, explaining the open doorways with no roof

the bluest eye ending

beauty was not simply something to behold; it was something one could do….

I think what she meant by this is beauty is something that could not be seen by others unless you change the way you look. the main example about in the book was the bluest eye. Pecola wanted to feel pretty and have the bluest eye so she can feel accepted. instead this made other people think she was crazy like why would you change the way you look to feel pretty and accepted. in the book there should be a message that simply says you are pretty just the way you are. black girls and women are golden and no one should take that away from you. beauty comes natural and there are enhancers but to feel accepted is not the wave. but also I feel as though this message is not being said because it was years ago and around the time people were not encouraging young girls about their beauty. can’t think of anything can’t think of anything

Cholly

this section tells us that Cholly is just another man who have very strong sexual desires. since he was born he was left abandoned and didn’t have any love from his biological parents. this is sad. growing up he didn’t have his much of a male figure in his life so there was no guidance until his aunt passed away and his uncle took over. when his aunt passed away it was emotional for him but he took his feeling and started acting wild by having sexual intercourse in an open field and getting the girl pregnant. after finding out about it he turned into the same person his dad was and it left him messed up in the head. that first experience for him did not make him as a man because he ran away and chose to rape his daughter because she remained him of his wife. so to sum it all up there was no correct structure that helped raised him to be a man and it affected him as he got older, a father and a husband.

pages 97-131

I believe the most significant symbol from the section was…. can’t think of anything can’t think of anything can’t think of anything can’t think of anything …. was not particular object but was moving on. Pecola moved to a new state and found a new life. she left everything and everybody behind her and noticed that the people in her new town was nothing like the people in her old town and also towards the end of her book attempting to move on from her husband. in her new town it showed her how much she missed everyone and hard to do just like with her child’s father. Pecola knew she had to move on from him because of how she was being treated but it was very hard to do so. she ended up getting pregnant twice and thought everything would go back to normal but the father of her children remained the same as he continued to drink. I think she eventually moved on from him later on the book but in my opinion moving on was the most significant symbol from this section.

Comparison between the two

In the episode of black mirror there were many things that related itself to the bluest eye. But in particular the white man character “Rolo” mad a very good connection. Through out what have been read so far in “The Bluest Eye” was Henry’s character. Henry was a very strange man, but also had a reputation as a hard-working man. Although he was hard working, he still had his corky ways. Henry became too friendly with the MacTeer girls to the point that he had a perverted side. In the black museum he Rolo was very strange from the very beginning, he kept these weird things in a museum that focused on how black males suffered from strange inventions. There wasn’t anything in particular about women. To be a white man to have these things in a museum is very much off and he found joy in the inventions. I am glad that the girl gave him a taste of his own medicine and killed him, but yeah that is how I saw Rolo and Henry was related between both stories.

The Bluest Eye, Dick and Jane

The author placed the Dick and Jane story in its particular place because she wants to set the tone of a family, with kids, dogs and cats as it is presented later throughout the book. This give a preview of what to expect later and ties you into the story and to see it in the protagonist eye’s. In most cases this is an attention grabber, a demanding piece of writing. can’t think of anything can’t think of anything can’t think of anything can’t think of anything. the begining is structured a certain way because its allowing you to read in ways other people read for example, incomplete sentences, run ons and not editing. this can be a reasoning on how she write and then have it edited and corrected.

In response to “Since Unfinished”

The most significant symbol in this poem is writing. Richard Blanco is reminded by everything his family has taught him such as his mother, grandfather, and grandmother including the sparrow. All of these people has influenced his imaginery in some way. His grandfather taught him how to hold a blade of grass, his mother showed him how to take a splinter out and grandmother calling him a faggot. The writing is a significant symbol to the poem because it also shows how it influenced him to the be the man he is and chooses to give his self to Michael. not to mention how vivid his writing is. can’t think of anything, can’t think of anything, can’t think of anything, can’t think of anything, can’t think of anything, can’t think of anything. I feel like all of these people in his family tried to mold him into being a man but it wasn’t successful and to put the icing on the cake was his grandmother’s comment.

Lahiri Post

In the story, there is a protagonist and he go by the name of Shukumar. He is identified as the protagonist because throughout the story he is the one that leads everything and the reader is able to see things in his own eyes. Cant think of anything cant think of anything. Shukumar tied to find ways to make his relationship better with his wife. Shoba (his wife) can be identified as the protagonist as well because she also tries to lead the story, but in my eyes she is the antagonist. cant think of anything cant think of anything cant think of anyyyythinggg

Run, Mourner, Run

A major conflict Dean faces is between person vs person. The person vs person in this story is between himself and Percy Terrell. This man sets him Dean up with another older man and it starts a conflict. The conflict is Dean having a good time with another man by the name of Ray Brown and he was supposed to pay him after. This never happened and Dean got finessed in the long run. He sits and wait sits and wait and wait and wait and wait for this man but it never happens. While Dean waits for Ray Brown his mom gets sent to the hospital multiple times and his car breaks down. If I was in his shoes I would be pissed too because I’m waiting for money I’m promised and hospital bills are piling up and have no money to take care of my mother. But also none of this would have happened if Dean never agreed to have this moment with an older man.

Lullaby

The tree is the most significant symbol in the text because it reminded Ayah of her children. One day at the rancher’s house they got a visit at the door from the doctors. These people wanted to take away the children from their mom. Eventually they ran away all together and their hiding place mwas over a hill under a tree as their hiding spot. Soon Ayah and her children went back to the ranch and the doctors came back with a policeman and they took the children away. After this tragic moment, Ayah went back to the top of the hill where Danny and Ella hid before. This spot because significant because it reminds Ayah of her children. The tree provided protection and shelter.
