the artist draw my attention to the smoke that is in the very middle. it represents movement as. girl is looking out in the ski through a door way. the placement is how he get my attention. natural your focus goes straight to the middle of an object or painting and then the surrounding images. in this painting in particular the smoke is white and with it being white its able to draw your attention quickly rather then looking at anything else.
